Pico Sol Cambodia was established in 2008 by a group of young volunteers who have a warm heart at the development of Cambodia. The organisation is coached by the Dutch foundation Pico Sol to develop to an national recognized organisation able to facilitate the development of Cambodia's young solar sector. Since then, the organisation has been built up by a small but effective professional staff. They will present themselves below.

Mira Weber is the director of the Solar Campus. As antropologist, she fulfilled several years management and consultancy work in The Netherlands. Nowadays, she lives since 2008 in a full solar powered home close to Pico Sol Cambodia. In Cambodia, Mira was involved in some market surveys on energy consumption in rural societies. Mira's task is to lead the Solar Campus and to contribute to its development to a vocational training centre.
Men Chansophal (Sophal) is one of the trainers. With years of experience in education, and a warm heart to solar energy, he is working since 2011 at Pico Sol Cambodia, giving trainings to end-users, installers and entrepreneurs. Sophal is graduated a bachelor in English. He always says “Yes” for feedback which can improve his work. His personal drive is to make Cambodian people aware of the advantages of the sunlight and solar energy.
Bun Than is member of Pico Sol Cambodia's training team. Bun Than works for PSC since 2011. With his wide experience at several technical training schools, first as student, later as trainer, he is our technical conscience in our training program. Bun Than has also years of experience as technician and constructor, making him indispensable for us to bring our theory in a practical and realistic context to our students.
Lim Ros (Lim) works as English teacher in Sre Ampil English School at the orphanage "Peaceful Children's Home", close to Pico Sol Cambodia's home base. He has a 50% part-time job as house master of Pico Sol Cambodia. Lim worked at several Cambodian based NGOs before he started his job in 2010. He proved to be a motivated and multifunctional employee of our young organisation. Lim is not only responsible for making our guests feeling at home in our guest house, but he is also the administrator.
Sopheap is responsible for cleaning the Solar Campus. In this position, she is indispensable in the daily hectics at Pico Sol Cambodia. Sopheap got also motivated by the opportunities of solar energy. As one of the first solar rental entrepreneurs, she runs a successful business. A growing number of customers rents a Moonlight from her. As real movie-star, she plays a role in a promotion movie of this new Cambodian solar LED-lantern, motivating many other potential rental enterpreneurs.
Henry de Gooijer coaches Pico Sol Cambodia. Henry works full-time for Pico Sol Foundation in The Netherlands and is responsible for the Cambodian program. As frequent visitor to the Solar Campus, he is involved in developing this institute as the Cambodian training and expert center. Henry is responsible for the development of the training program. His personal motive: Clean and affordable energy within reach of everyone.
Ly Senleap (Leap) started his career at solar company Kamworks in 2006. As project manager, he was responsible for setting up a network of solar shops in Cambodia's rural areas. Currently, Leap works at the Cambodian branch of a Japanese company in ICT-solutions. Leap has a bachelor degree in English and is currently working to get an MBA-degree. At Pico Sol Cambodia, he is the chairman. His personal motive: Make Cambodian life lighter with sunlight!
Ms. Lina Buth. Her friendly character makes her popular among friends in her workplace and outside. She loves reading, singing, eating, and working. Even though her English is not perfectly well, her innate communication skill makes people feeling happy whenever they are talking to her. She has been working as an accounting assistant for nearly six years in a Malaysian Company. She loves her job very much. After joining Pico Sol she hopes that she would bring something good for the poor as well as to the Cambodian society as a whole. She is willing to offer her little hand for the well-being of the poor not only in her homeland-Cambodia but also to the world. Her vision is to give people HOPE.
Rogier van Mansvelt lives in Cambodia since 2003. As environmentalist Rogier started his Cambodian career at the NGO Geres as research manager. Nowadays Rogier works as an independent energy consultant and offers his services to a wide range of organisations, like the World Bank, UNDP and SNV. Rogier distinguishes himself as an empathetic and multi-disciplinary team-player, able to bring people and organisations together. A wide range of studies and projects related to reduction of carbon emissions have been forwarded by him. As member of the board, Rogier is responsible for advising Pico Sol Cambodia on its strategy and project selection.
Ly Leakhena: "Solar Energy is another energy alternative source which I am interested to explore further about its development and benefit to Cambodia.
