To facilitate our objective to build up a professional solar power sector in Cambodia, we have built the vocational training centre "Solar Campus". The Solar Campus is a decent and modern building in a rural environment that provides in all modern luxury of the big city: Electricity, internet, running water and gas for cooking. At the Solar Campus young persons are trained in solar technology and solar micro-entrepreneurship. Because most of them come from other parts of Cambodia, they also stay at the Solar Campus during the trainings.
The focus of the Solar Campus is clear: Solar power. This focus is visible from outside and inside. Solar panels are on and around the building. Batteries and electronics are inside. The Solar Campus is more than a building only. The building is part of all the education itself. The building offers space for short-term and long-term stays of trainees, who will be dependent on solar power during their stay. Several solar power systems provide in the energy need of this Campus.
Added value for all of the trainings that are provided in the Solar Campus is the co-operation with the company Kamworks. It is not only the availability of practical know-how in the direct neighbourhood that sharpens our trainers, but also the opportunity of practical internships for our trainees make our trainings more valuable than any other initiative.
The Solar Campus is situated among the rice fields in rural Cambodia. We train rural electrification professionals in the rural areas.
