Srê Ampil, 13th January 2012 Last week Athalia joined Tra while she was visiting two of our entrepreneurs in Kandal province.

"Last week I joined Tra at her visit to the village entrepreneurs ( VE’s ). We visited two VE’s in Kandal province, the province where we as PSC are located as well. There are more VE’s in Kandal, but it took one day already to visit the two because of the long distances, bad roads and the ferry you have to take to reach the place of destination.

Tra and I went together on her motor to visit the VE’s. After a journey of an hour, we came to the first entrepreneur. This VE works together with her father to set up her business. They live with the whole family in their house. During the dry season, they also sell fish and some other things under their house. The women were busy cleaning the fish to dry and make it ready to sell at the market. When they saw us coming, we got a warm welcome. It is clear that they have created a bond. After collecting the money, delivering the MoonLights and replacing the broken ones, we continued our way to the second VE.

This VE owns together with her family a little restaurant where we had lunch together. After lunch Tra counted all the money, organized the receipts, solved some problems with the MoonLights, gave new MoonLights etc. After 1 hour we returned to Pico Sol.

It was a great experience to join Tra on her visit. If you look at it, it’s very inefficient (it takes a whole day to visit 2 VE’s), but on the other side, these visits are really important. I saw that the team leaders and VE have built a relationship with each other. The VE’s feel supported by PSC and feel they belong to a group, which is very important as well. The results of the efforts everybody is putting in this network are becoming visible. The businesses are starting to grow!"
